عقدت دو اتفاقية إستراتيجية مع شركة هواوي تكنولوجيز بقيمة خمسة وثمانين مليون دولار أمريكي حيث تتولى هواوي تمويل تنفيذ الاتفاقية لصالح دو وذلك ضمن خطة دو إلى ترقية شبكتها للهاتف المتحرك العاملة بتقنيات ثري جي وإي دي جي إي إلى تقنية اتش اس بي اي بلس اعتباراً من العام المقبل

سينعكس هذا الاستثمار الضخم على تجربة عُملاء دو لخدمة الهاتف المتحرك في مجال الإنترنت السريع عبر الهاتف المتحرك حيث سيحظى العُملاء بسرعة فائقة لتصفح الإنترنت عبر هواتفهم

du has become the first UAE telecom provider to bring Facebook mobile texts to its users, giving them access to the range of communication options offered by the social network.

With Facebook mobile texts, du subscribers can provide status updates, and send messages, pokes, wall posts and friend requests via SMS, as well as post pictures and videos via MMS.
Users can also get free SMS notifications from Facebook, including new message alerts and friends' status updates, according to their preferences. There are no sign-up charges for using Facebook mobile texts, which is now available only to du subscribers.

اتصالات تتجه لخفض الأسعار المحلية

كشفت مؤسسة اتصالات عن أن لديها توجهاً لتخفيض أسعار المكالمات المحلية وذلك بعد الاتفاق مع الهيئة العامة لتنظيم قطاع الاتصالات في الدولة وقالت مصادر في اتصالات إن الهيئة طالبت المؤسسة بعرض تكاليف وأسعار المكالمات والخدمات لضمان عدم البيع بأقل من سعر التكلفة وبالتالي السماح بتخفيض الأسعار في الإطار الذي توافق عليه الهيئة. وأكدت مصادر اتصالات أنها تحاول الوصول إلى صيغة مناسبة مع هيئة تنظيم الاتصالات لتخفيض أسعار المكالمات المحلية منذ فترة طويلة إلا أن كثيراً من العروض تم رفضها من الهيئة سابقاً في هذا الإطار لعدم الإضرار بالمشغل الآخر لخدمات الاتصالات في الدولة

etisalat delivers cost evaluation to support TRA's review of price change requests


The UAE telecommunications market passed another major landmark today as etisalat delivered a comprehensive cost evaluation to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).



This is an obligation under the current regulatory framework, which directs etisalat to share its product and service set costing information with the regulator for pre-approval of price changes and promotions.


Embarking on and implementing this cost evaluation study is quite an achievement as etisalat has completed the entire study terms of reference, as issued by the TRA, in a record six months. etisalat is a thirty-three year old company, and also the largest company in the UAE with almost 10,000 staff and over 5,000 facilities including masts, payphones, offices and other infrastructure. This made the cost evaluation an enormous undertaking which in similar cases has taken many other operators around the world more than three years to achieve.


etisalat's cost evaluation model is technically referred to as a top down' cost allocation tool which encompasses three separate modeling parts, including cost accounting, accounting separation and wholesale pricing. This model has been built to world best practice and standards and is in line with the TRA's detailed 32 page guidance instructions to etisalat on building the cost allocation system for the purposes of making regulatory pricing determinations.


Under the current Price Change Request policy framework, the regulator approves the prices of services in the UAE on the basis of either using UAE-specific costs of etisalat's national network or international benchmarks.


Now that etisalat has submitted its cost evaluation model, as per the TRA's requirements, etisalat expects to be able to implement significant and wide-spread changes in its calling tariffs and bring greater choice to customers in the UAE. In completing this study Etisalat reconfirms its support for the ongoing development of the telecommunications sector and the numerous economic benefits it delivers to the citizens of the UAE. This is an important day for the country, and Etisalat looks forward to providing even greater value to its customers and higher levels of quality.

اعتماد الشعار الرسمي للاحتفالات باليوم الوطني الثامن والثلاثين

أعتمدت اللجنة العليا المشرفة على الاحتفالات باليوم الوطني برئاسة معالي عبد الرحمن بن محمد العويس وزير الثقافة والشباب وتنمية المجتمع الشعار الرسمي للاحتفالات لهذا العام وقررت تعميمه ليكون شعارا رسميا لكل الفعاليات في مختلف إمارات الدولة

وأكد معالي عبدالرحمن بن محمد العويس أن اختيار الشعار لاحتفالات اليوم الوطني الثامن والثلاثين جاء بإجماع آراء اللجنة العليا المشرفة على احتفالات اليوم الوطني خلال اجتماعها الرابع بعدما وصلت إلى اللجنة أكثر من خمسين مشاركة من طلاب التقنية والجامعات وبعض الشركات المتخصصة حيث تم تحديد خمسة شعارات لاختيار أفضلها وأكثرها تعبيرا عن الحدث الوطني الضخم في تاريخ الإمارات وهو الشعار الذي اتفقت عليه جميع الآراء

Summary

The Higher Committee for National Day celebrations headed by Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, has approved the official emblem for celebrations this year and decided to circulate it as the symbol for all formal events across various emirates.

Al Owais said the logo for the 38th National Day celebrations on December 2 was chosen as the most expressive from a group of five different entries.
He added it is the true expression of the bond of love and patriotism cherished in the hearts of all citizens towards every part of their motherland.
